For over fifty plus years I have been a professional architectural illustrator. Over the course of that time I have used many different mediums. My
favorite is watercolor by far. In my work as an architectural illustrator I had to be faithful
to the designs that were supplied to me. Detail, detail…detail. Often, if time allowed, I
would execute a watercolor painting or two from photos and sketches gathered from
vacations. I’ve found it very relaxing to be more loose and free and not restrained by
details and deadlines. The spontaneity that watercolors allows by letting colors mix on
the paper and glazing colors one over the other always brings surprises. Even after all
these years I still get lost in the moment on a painting. Time stands still. I still accept an
occasional commission but have been focusing more these days on my watercolors. I
hope you enjoy my work and perhaps would like to add one to your collection, I would be honored. If you would like to receive an occasional notice of my recent paintings and follow my path give me your email address. I promise I won’t abuse the privilege.
